Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a large pot, cook the whole wheat penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until translucent. Add the ground turkey, cooking until browned. Stir in the diced zucchini, red bell pepper, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, turkey and vegetable mixture, marinara sauce, and ricotta cheese. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Protein Pasta Bake!
